Americans across the country woke up today to news that President Joe Biden was in Kiev, Ukraine, instead of in the United States, on President’s Day.
With his approval rating standing at 43% in a recent national poll, his abandoning of the American people on a day set aside to celebrate American Presidents, Biden is taking a beating online, particularly from conservative and America First activists.
According to reports out of Washington, Joe Biden arrived at Andrews Air Force Base at 4 AM on Sunday morning, got on a plane and flew throughout the day to Poland.
He had a previously planned trip to Warsaw, the country’s Capitol, that’s been months in the works, but left under the cover of darkness for the surprise trip.
Biden then departed by train from a train station called “Przemśl Glówny” on a 10 hour train ride into Kiev.
Shockingly, news reports now indicate that the Biden administration alerted Vladimir Putin’s administration in Russia that he would be in Kiev.
It’s been reported that Putin agreed to a ceasefire while Biden was in Kiev.
National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said: “He [BIDEN] got a full presentation of a very good and very effective operational security plan. He heard that presentation, he was satisfied that the risk was manageable, and he ultimately made the determination.”
Biden made these remarks about his trip to Kiev:
“As the world prepares to mark the one-year anniversary of Russia’s brutal invasion of Ukraine, I am in Kyiv today to meet with President Zelenskiy and reaffirm our unwavering and unflagging commitment to Ukraine’s democracy, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
“When Putin launched his invasion nearly one year ago, he thought Ukraine was weak and the West was divided. He thought he could outlast us. But he was dead wrong.
“I will announce another delivery of critical equipment, including artillery ammunition, anti-armor systems, and air surveillance radars to help protect the Ukrainian people from aerial bombardments.
“Later this week, we will announce additional sanctions against elites and companies that are trying to evade or backfill Russia’s war machine.
“The cost that Ukraine has had to pay is extraordinarily high. Sacrifices have been far too great. We know that there will be difficult days and weeks and years ahead.”
